The Problem
Many home-based F&B (food & beverage) businesses affected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

● They struggled financially which may lead to a lot of stress and anxiety.
● Lack of exposure about promoting their businesses incontrast to popular food apps such as Grab & foodpanda with established companies.


Statistics
In 2021, some 2.5 million people used online food delivery in Singapore, 300 thousand people more than in 2020.

Research
Observations & Key Findings

• Social media & word-of-mouth
These businesses hugely depend on Instagram, Facebook as well as word-of-mouth to go about promoting their small business.

• Undistinguishable diets
It is hard to distinguish the plethora of diets offered by these businesses -vegan, ketogenic, baked goods, beverages, halal, gluten-free to list a few.

• Delivery
These business owners have to deliver to their customers’ homes which requires a lot of effort and for the most part, they lack manpower.


Target Audience
Working adults who enjoys exploring different food options & supporting small home-based businesses.
Features
1. Onboarding
Users can better understand what the app does and sign up. Users can also choose their dietary preferences when they first set up their accounts.

2. Menu Gallery
Users can see more food options at a glance with the menu gallery. Hence, fuel their appetite as people are visual creatures.

3. Get Inspired
Users can read educational articles about the F&B business in Singapore. It features local home cooks & chefs!

4. Ordering
Users can choose a store and make their orders. They can track their order and refer to their receipt.

5. Story and Reviews
Users can navigate to the ‘About' page to learn more about personal stories of the community of small business owners and home chefs! Reviews are also a good way to know more about their small business.

6. Account
User can navigate their account 'Details', 'Payment Methods', 'Rewards' and 'Favourites' to mark their favourite stores.

Lesson Takeaways

What I would like to improve on is the time to conduct user testing with my target audience to gather relevant feedback on how I can make the app better.

I would also like to be able to improve and refine the logo and be able to incorporate more elements from my mood board such as the stamp effect.
